Day 1 done!

We are sitting on a patio outside a bar, alongside a market drinking a well
earned beer in the sunshine. We have finished the first day's walking by
toboganning back down the mountain and are fending of stall vendors
determined to sell us great bargins for a mere 10 times their value.

We have walked for 5 hours today along a part of the Wall that has been
restored to its original state. Incredible views, lots of steps and "the
big push" at the end of the morning, took us 650 steps up to the highest
point of the Wall with a Kodak moment back along the way we had come.

We had problems with the internet access in our last hotel, but Ken has
managed to post some photos and we will try again tonight.

Thanks for all the comments on the posts so far, we have been reading them
and it they are really encouraging and a link to home.
